Player Registration & Selection Process

Season: Season 1

Status: Official Selection Guidelines

1. Purpose

The IGCL Player Registration & Selection Process is designed to provide a fair, transparent, and merit-based pathway for players to participate in the Indian Gully Cricket League (IGCL).

Only players who successfully complete the selection process shall become eligible for the Official IGCL Player Auction.

2. Player Registration

Players must register through the Official IGCL Registration Portal. The registration shall include:

Full Name
Date of Birth
Government ID Proof
Recent Photograph
Mobile Number
Email Address
Residential Address
Playing Role (Batter, Bowler, All-Rounder, Wicketkeeper)
Batting Style
Bowling Style
Previous Experience (if any)

* Incomplete or incorrect registrations may be rejected.

3. Registration Verification

IGCL Tournament Operations shall verify:

Player Identity
Age Eligibility
Supporting Documents
Duplicate Registrations & Eligibility

* Only verified players shall receive an invitation for the Official IGCL Player Trials.

4. Official IGCL Player Trials

The Official IGCL Trials consist of four competitive stages:

Stage 1 – Fitness Assessment

• Sprint Speed
• Agility
• Endurance
• Running Between Wickets
• Catching & Throwing Accuracy

Stage 2 – Skill Assessment

Batters:

• Technique & Timing
• Shot Selection
• Power Hitting & Strike Rotation

Bowlers:

• Pace & Variations
• Accuracy & Yorkers
• Line, Length & Match Awareness

Wicketkeepers:

• Glovework & Catching
• Stumping & Throwing Accuracy

Fielding:

• Ground Fielding & Agility
• Catching, Throwing & Athleticism

Stage 3 – IGCL One Over Challenge

An individual match-condition evaluation challenge:

Batter Challenge (6 balls)

• Qualification Rule: Score 14 runs or more to qualify.

• Wicket Penalty: Dismissal deducts 5 runs from final score.

Examples:

• 18 Runs (Not Out) → Final Score: 18 (Qualified)

• 16 Runs + Out → Final Score: 11 (Not Qualified)

• 14 Runs (Not Out) → Final Score: 14 (Qualified)

• 20 Runs + Out → Final Score: 15 (Qualified)

Bowler Challenge (6 balls)

• Qualification Rule: Concede 14 runs or fewer to qualify.

• Wicket Benefit: Taking a wicket deducts 5 runs from bowler's conceded runs.

Examples:

• 18 Conceded + Wicket → Final Score: 13 (Qualified)

• 14 Conceded + Wicket → Final Score: 9 (Qualified)

• 22 Conceded + Wicket → Final Score: 17 (Not Qualified)

* Wide balls and No Balls shall be included in the runs conceded. Qualification benchmarks are indicative only. Final selection remains at the discretion of the IGCL Selection Committee.

Stage 4 – Match Simulation

Players qualifying through trials participate in official match situations evaluated on:

• Batting & Bowling Performance
• Fielding & Match Awareness
• Pressure Handling & Communication
• Teamwork & Sportsmanship

5. Match Simulation Invitation

Qualified players shall be notified through:

• Registered Mobile Number (SMS/WhatsApp)
• Registered Email Address
• Official IGCL Website
• Official IGCL Social Media Platforms

* Players must report at the scheduled venue and time. Failure to report may result in disqualification.

6. Selection Committee Evaluation

The Selection Committee evaluates players on Fitness, Skill, One Over Challenge performance, Match Simulation, and overall Sportsmanship.

* The decision of the Selection Committee shall be final and binding.

7. Official Shortlisting

Following Match Simulation, the Selection Committee prepares the **Official IGCL Player Auction Pool**. Shortlisting does not guarantee selection by a franchise.

8. Auction Eligibility

Only players who successfully complete registration, meet all eligibility requirements, attend the trials, and are officially shortlisted by the Selection Committee are eligible to participate in the Official IGCL Player Auction.

9. Medical & Integrity Clearance

Before joining a franchise, players are required to complete:

• Medical Declaration
• Identity Verification
• Player Agreement
• Code of Conduct Acceptance
• Anti-Corruption Declaration
• PMOA Compliance Declaration

10. Final Squad Confirmation

Players purchased during the Auction become official members of their franchises only after approval by the Tournament Committee. The final squad list is officially published by IGCL Tournament Management.

11. Tournament Committee Powers

The Tournament Committee reserves full rights to:

• Accept or reject any registration.
• Conduct additional trials or assessments.
• Modify the selection process, verify player information, and remove ineligible players.
• Take disciplinary action for false declarations or misconduct.

* The decision of the Tournament Committee shall be final and binding.
